About the client and the task
Client: a leading Russian full-cycle vaccine developer and manufacturer, operating specialised mercury regeneration technologies, monitoring equipment, and an experienced technical team.

Task: confirm the feasibility of transporting mercury as a regulated dangerous substance and deliver it to Port Sudan.
Cargo details
Metallic mercury — an extremely hazardous substance for human health and the environment. The shipment is subject to strict international controls, including the UN Minamata Convention on Mercury.
Route
Shipment from the shipper’s warehouse in Russia to Port Sudan via the Port of Novorossiysk.
Client's wishes
Transportation was only possible subject to full regulatory compliance, including:

  • certified packaging and proper dangerous goods documentation

  • confirmed handling capability at the port of departure

  • carrier approval to accept and transport the cargo

  • approvals for handling during transit, where applicable, by the relevant authorities
Features of transportation
The project required end-to-end regulatory coordination and multi-party approvals, with limited carrier options and strict acceptance rules at transit points. Growex managed the compliance track, aligned all stakeholders, and ensured approvals were obtained in line with applicable regulations.
Result for the client
The cargo was delivered to the port of destination intact and in line with the client’s expectations, despite the complexity of approvals in transit. The client continues to work with Growex as a proven solution for high-compliance shipments.
