About the client and the task
Client: a food colorants supplier.
Task: arrange delivery from Peru of a high-value shipment consisting of two
pallets of carmine, with a total value of over USD 300,000. The challenge was
that the cargo was small (only two pallets) but expensive and located with two
different shippers.

Cargo details
Food-grade carmine (a natural dye derived from cochineal insects native to Peru, which are sensitive to temperature and survive within a narrow temperature range).
Route
Cargo was collected from two shippers and delivered to a consolidation warehouse in Callao. It was then loaded and secured in a 20’ container. The container was shipped by a direct vessel to Istanbul, followed by re-stuffing and transit customs procedures for onward delivery to Novorossiysk.
Client's wishes
- Shortest possible transit time.
- Shipment in a dedicated container on a direct vessel to Istanbul, with subsequent re-stuffing and transit arrangement to Novorossiysk.
- Proper securing inside the container to prevent damage.
